My piece “Does The Term POC Help Us Or Hurt Us” is published on Harvard Business Review. In the essay I talk about why POC should not be used when describing non-white groups, how the term washes away differences we have, how companies can use POC to further anti-Blackess, and why when we discuss racism, we need to be specific.
I am not a fan of the term “POC” or “People of Color” because I am Black an I feel that by grouping people together, we don’t see the differences.
